Hi, I’m Aleksei.
I’m a Staff Product Designer at Meta, in New York. Getting here took nineteen years, three countries and a handful of startups.
I started in Siberia, designing billboards and print while I studied PR and marketing. Saint Petersburg came next, and with it my first startup, where I went from junior designer to leading the mobile design team in a year and a half.
Then Singapore, for eight years. I designed for startups in music, finance, video and blockchain, and two of those apps reached #1 in their App Store categories. Meta hired me there in 2020, and in 2023 I moved with it to New York.
After hours I build my own things: Stage, a macOS app for product demos, and eight Figma plugins that about 34k people use.
Looking back, every stop gave me something the others couldn’t. I’ve worked with people from very different cultures, in three countries, and in businesses as different as dating, music, finance and blockchain. Graphic design gave me an eye for visuals. Startups taught me to build products for millions of people. Meta taught me to build them for billions.
